With cervical screening stats at a 20-year low and labiaplasty now the fastest-growing plastic surgery in the world, the consequences of not teaching girls and young women about their own bodies is worrying. Vagina: A Re-Education by The Pool co-founder and Guardian journalist Lynn Enright, confronts taboos such as abortion, miscarriage, infertility and masturbation. Lynn talks to Wendy Jones (The Sex Lives of English Women) about issues such as period poverty, female genital mutilation and the rights of transgender women, reframing the debate around women’s sexual and reproductive health, pregnancy, pain and pleasure.
